COUPON SEMINAR!!!

Would you like to learn how to spend $50.09 for all the groceries pictured above? Would you like to know how to feed a family of 4 on $150.00 a month? (around $4.80 a day.) Coupons are not just for those who are trying to feed an entire family, every person can benifit from the savings of using coupons. I am wanting to host two coupon seminars in April and I am trying to find out who is interested in coming, in order to determine a location for the event. The event will take place on Tuesday April 20th at 6:30pm and on Saturday April 23rd in the early afternoon time TBA (probably 11am).
I will teach you how to make using coupons a quicker process, the do's and do not's of the coupon world, what store policies are, useful websites, how to use CVS extra care bucks and Walgreen's register reward program. The cost is $10.00 per person. Feel free to invite others as well. Let me know if one of these dates works for you or if it doesn't and you still would like to attend one at a later time let me know as well. This will be a great way to learn how to save a lot of money!
You can reply on here, you can also send me an e-mail to LaurenB1022@gmail.com

Formula Deal..

I got a question about how I got formula so cheap...

I got 4 cans of formula (enfamil) which were 18.49 each.
I had two coupons that printed out from Bi-Lo from previous trips that were each buy one get one free up to $13.95.
Then I had a printed out register coupon from Bi-Lo for $5.00 off
then I had (3) coupons that were for 7.00 off enfamil (these were ones they sent me in the mail when I signed up online with them.)

So 4 cans were$73.96
minus the 27.90 for the buy one get one coupons
so that leaves me with $46.06
then subtract the 5.00 which is 41.06
then take off the 21.00 and that leaves you with $20.06

This just happened to all fall into place at one time, usually the deals are not quite this good. The best thing is to sign up for the coupons for similac, enfamil, good start etc and they send great coupons that actually work like checks.

Now the reason I could use so many is because the coupons from enfamil are not manufacturer coupons, so they could be used with the coupons that printed out from the bi-lo register. I hope this helps explain it.

Every so often target puts similac on sale for $19.99 and I will use the similac coupons they send me for 5.00 off making it $14.99 for a large container.

Walgreens is usually the best place to get formula- I find it fairly cheap there.

Huge response...

I have had a huge response to my latest post about saving so much money at the grocery store..
I thought I would give some tips on where i got certain coupons etc...

First of all there are a few great coupon websites -there are links to these on the right side of my blog under coupon sites!

coupons.com
couponbug.com
smartsource.com
hotcouponworld.com - this one is a database of every coupon out there. Just because it lists it doesn't mean we got it in our coupons here in greenville. It will tell you where it was located and the date it was there so if it says
SS 1/24/10 this means smart source on that date
Smartsource, Redplum, and P&G are all coupon inserts that come in the sunday paper. P&G only comes on the first sunday of that month.

click the coupons you want and print them.... don't forget you are allowed to print each of them twice from the same computer!
*** never ever ever take a printed coupon and copy it*** you will get in trouble! Each coupon has multiple places that are coded numbers that lead straight back to your computer, so if it is copied it is like fraud!

Ok... with my deals yesterday... Let me tell you where I got some of my coupons....If it says printed online I only printed from smart source or coupons.com yesterday.

Remember--- Bi-Lo will double up to $0.60 and Publix will double your coupon up to $0.50 this is why I get better deals at bi-lo
Coupons I Printed online
V8 juice 1.00 off
Nabisco crackers- 2.00 off two boxes. (this has a picture of ritz on it, that does not mean the coupon is for ritz only! ) it is off nabisco crackers (any) so I got wheat thins because they were buy one get one (this is the cheapest it will ever get on an item)
Halls cough drops- 0.50 off (this is free once doubled if you get the ones that are .99 cents)

Coupons from the newspaper inserts
Franks Redhot Sauce, any - 01-24-10 SS
Welch's Jam, Jelly, Or Spread, Any 32 Oz, 22 Oz. Or 18.8 Oz. - 01-03-10 SS
Chi-Chi's Tortillas, Any - 12-06-09 SS
Old El Paso Heat & Serve Side, Any - 01-03-10 SS
RoTel Diced Tomatoes, any variety - 01-24-10 SS
Hefty Plates or Cups, any package (barcode starts with 9 this means it will not double) - 01-31-10 RP
Jimmy Dean Sausage Roll products, any (2) - 01-31-10 RP (the ones i found also had a 0.50 cent off store coupon attached to them - you can use both of the coupons.
Armour Meatball product, any - 01-31-10 SS

I know this is only a few of the ones I got, some of the coupons are not avaliable to print anymore, or they were special coupons that were sent to me in the mail. At least it is a start.

AMAZING!!!

I worked an incredible deal at CVS tonight! I was trying to follow someone elses deal but ended up not having the right coupons, so I sat down and figured it out for myself and think I ended up with an even better deal! I did two transactions.

Here are the totals before any coupons or sale prices for both deals $ 200.52
Total I paid for all of it after coupons and extra care bucks: $4.32!!!
This means I saved $196.32
This is AMAZING!

Here is how I did it:
#1) 4 glade candle holders at $2.50 each
4 glade candle refills at $2.50 each
1 nova Max blood glucose monitor for 9.99. ( this was on sale $65.00 off)

I had coupons for buy one holder get one refill free on the glade. I also had a $5.00 off a $25.00 purchase. So here is how it worked...
My total after the sale price but before any coupons or extra care bucks came to $29.99.

First I used the $5.00 off a $25.00 purchase. ($24.99)
I had 4 coupons for the buy 1 get 1 glade. ($24.99-10.00= 14.99)
I used 13.99 in extra care bucks (14.99-13.99=1.00 add tax +1.50= 2.50)
So for the first deal I only paid $2.50 out of pocket!
I got 15.99 back in extra care bucks and it also printed out a coupon for $5.00 off a $25.00 purchase.

#2) My second deal I got a Bayer contour blood glucose monitor for $14.99 (this was on sale for $65.00 off) and I had a coupon for $14.99 so this was free.

I got two packs of pampers diapers at $8.99 each and had two coupons one for 2.00 off and another for 1.50 off.
I added in two caramels for $0.33 each this was so I didn't waste my extra care bucks.

Here is how it worked. Total after sale price but before coupons or extra care bucks. $33.63
I used the $5.00 off $25.00 purchase (33.63-$5.00$28.63)
Coupon for $14.99 off the glucose monitor (28.63-14.99=13.64)
Two diaper coupons (13.64-3.50=$10.14)
I used 10.00 in extra care bucks ($10.14-10.00= $0.14)
add in tax ($0.14 +$1.68= $1.82)
I paid $1.82 out of pocket and with the bayer glucose monitor there is a Rebate for the price you pay up to $55.00 so I will get a check back for $14.99)

Now I could have paid nothing for this, but it is all a matter of when the sales person hits the subtotal button. There is a time that they can hit the button and it will allow the extra care bucks to pay the sales tax, but if they hit it at some other point it won't let them pay for the sales tax. This is not that big of a deal but could be the difference in why someone can pay $0.40 cents and you may end up paying $1.20. Don't fight this if it happens to you, just realize you got an amazing deal.

What can you get for $108.15

If you need formula now is the time to get it at Target. Similac is on sale for $19.99. If you get the similac coupons in the mail you can get $5.00 off each container. So all of the items you see below were $172.95 before any savings. After savings I paid $108.15 That is a savings of $64.80!! Now normally I would never spend this much at one time, but like I said I have never seen formula go this low and then be able to use a coupon on it as well. I was very pleased with this deal. I am anxious to see how long the formula will last us. I am hoping through December, but I am not sure on that! Now if I see any good deals on formula that I have other coupons for etc I will get them, but only if I can get it for next to nothing!

Bad News Greenville, SC

For those of us in Greenville, SC there might be some coupon changes that are not going to be welcomed. I went to Walgreen's last night to get my 2 weekly sunday papers, so I could get the coupons. I was standing in line looking through them to make sure the coupons were there. One of my papers had them, the other did not. So I got up and told the lady I was going to trade out one paper for another one because there were no coupons in it. She told me that the newspaper has decided that they are no longer going to be including coupons in any papers except for those who have a subcription and have it delivered to their home. This made me so mad! They want to increase delivery sales and figured this is the way to do it.
I have written to the newspaper to find out if this is really going to happen. Honestly I think they will end up losing money because I know I am not going to pay the subscription for it and when I would go to Walgreens I always buy 2 papers not just one! I was in there 2 weeks ago and saw a lady with at least 10 papers in her cart! I can promise I won't be getting two subscriptions! Anyway I will follow up as soon as I hear back from someone at the paper about it.
